About us
About GPTestPro
GPTestPro helps doctors prepare for Stage 1 of GP training selection in Ireland, the ICGP Situational Judgement Test and Clinical Problem-Solving Test, with practice built on Irish professional standards and clinical guidance.
Our clinical lead
Every question is approved by a doctor
Dr Muhammad Yahya Khan
Clinical lead
Dr Khan reviews and approves every question before it is published. Questions that need changes are sent back with notes, and nothing reaches candidates until it has been approved.
How we write questions
Four rules we hold every question to
The real format
SJT ranking (1 to 5) and choose-three-of-eight items, and CPST single best answer questions with five options, as described in the ICGP’s Guide to Applicants.
Irish sources first
The Medical Council’s Guide to Professional Conduct and Ethics (9th edition), HSE policies on consent, open disclosure and interpreting, the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015, Children First, and NCEC National Clinical Guidelines, supplemented by NICE, BTS, JBDS and other established guidance where appropriate.
Every option explained
Why the best answer is best, and why each other option is less appropriate.
Kept current
Candidates can report any question in one tap; reports go straight to our clinical review queue. Edited questions are re-reviewed before going live again.
Independent
GPTestPro is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Irish College of General Practitioners or the HSE. Our questions are our own and are not official ICGP test items.
